COLLINGWOOD MAGPIES ANNOUNCE 2019 TRAINING PARTNERS

Collingwood Magpies is excited to announce its Training Partners for the 2019 season. The club is pleased to have re-signed five of its 2018 training partners alongside the return of former Magpie, Samantha Gooden and the new addition of Brooke Allen.

Towering goal shooter Jane Cook was a solid target in the club’s state-affiliate side, the Tasmanian Magpies, and was crucial to the team’s premiership victory this year.

Alongside Cook, Sharni Lambden displayed her best season yet, which ultimately saw her awarded the 2018 Tasmanian Magpies best and fairest.

Dynamic wing attack Kelsie Rainbow was also vital to the Tasmanian Magpies side, providing great speed and versatility down the court. Her hard work eventually paid off as she made her Collingwood Magpies debut in front of a home crowd in Tasmania in a pre-season match earlier this year.

Following much success with the Geelong Cougars in the Victorian Netball League, Melissa Bragg continued to impress at the Magpies, ultimately making her Suncorp Super Netball debut in the team’s round five clash against the Swifts.

Having taken some time away from Netball, Vanessa Augustini clearly fell back in love with Netball in 2018, providing great assistance through the midcourt in this year’s Tasmanian Magpies premiership side.

After departing the Magpies earlier this year for a stint at the Melbourne Vixens, Samantha Gooden has returned home to Collingwood. Gooden made her SSN debut with the Magpies in the club’s inaugural match of the 2017 SSN season against the Vixens as a training partner.

New to the club is young defender Brooke Allan, who starred for the Geelong Cougars in this year’s VNL season. She also arrives at the Pies as the best player in the 2017 U/17 Australian Championships Grand Final.
