Super Clinic – Thursday 27th April

After landing in Launceston on Thursday morning, the team headed to the first-ever Magpies Netball clinic held in Tasmania.

Based at St Patrick’s College, all ten players spent the day teaching and interacting with young netballers.

With over 100 kids in attendance across the day, participants were treated to a shooting clinic from Caitlin Thwaites, Alice Teague-Neeld and Cody Lange; a defensive workshop with April Brandley and Micaela Wilson; a midcourt master class from Madi Robinson, Ash Brazill and Kim Ravaillion, and a Q+A with Sharni Layton and Shae Brown.

To round out a fun-filled day, all clinic goers went home with photos and autographs of their favourite Magpies, as well as a goody bag courteous of Chemist Warehouse!

Open Training – Friday 28th April

A jam-packed Friday in Launceston concluded at the Silverdome where the Magpies trained in front of an eager crowd.

Coaches Kristy Keppich-Birrell and Kate Upton were mic’d up for the session, while the players worked tirelessly in their final hit out before the big game.

The team were joined by two of Tasmania’s best young netballers, as Courtney Treloar and Piper Sanders took part in a few of the training drills after representing their state in the 17/U National Championships last week.

Day Off – Saturday 29th April

After two busy days, the players were left to explore Launceston on their day off.

A group of players went to the local market on Saturday morning, while others headed to The University of Tasmania Stadium for the Hawthorn v St Kilda AFL game down the road.

Others decided to soak in the beautiful backdrop of Launceston by exploring the Cataract Gorge.

MAGPIES NETBALL v QUEENSLAND FIREBIRDS – Sunday 30th April

In a thrilling finish at the Silverdome, the Magpies claimed a two-goal victory (61-59) over the Firebirds in front of a passionate Tasmanian crowd.
