ROBINSON TO CAPTAIN MAGPIES IN 2018

Tiarne Swersky - August 23, 2017

Champion midcourter Madi Robinson will lead Magpies Netball for a second season, after being reappointed as captain for 2018.

She’ll be joined by Shae Brown, Kim Ravaillion and Caitlin Thwaites in the Magpies’ leadership group.

The announcement comes one week after Robinson was elevated to the Australian Diamonds’ leadership group as co vice-captain.

“Leading the Magpies is an incredible opportunity and I’m grateful to be able to captain this club again next year,” Robinson told Magpies Netball this week.

“I thoroughly enjoyed this season. As a team, individuals and as a club, we learnt a lot.

“It’s really exciting to have so many different people at this club that can step up into leadership roles, both on and off the court.”

Magpies Netball Head Coach Kristy Keppich-Birrell said she was looking forward to working with the leadership group in 2018.

“We will work together to cement many of the great things that were initiated in our club's inaugural season,” Keppich-Birrell said.

“Madi will be well supported by our leadership group who offer a myriad of skills and personal attributes.

“Our team is looking in great shape ahead of next season, and we can’t wait to get together and launch into our 2018 campaign.”

Following the Diamonds’ Quad Series and Constellation Cup fixtures, the Magpies will come together in November to begin preparations for its 2018 Super Suncorp Netball season.
