Magpies Netball captain Madi Robinson will miss the Australian Diamonds’ upcoming Constellation Cup against New Zealand.

After falling to the Silver Ferns in the Quad Series Final last week, national coach Lisa Alexander has made two changes to her side.

Robinson was not selected in the final team of 13, but remains in the Diamonds squad – as well as the leadership group - ahead of the Commonwealth Games in 2018.

Caitlyn Nevins and Kate Moloney will come into the side, replacing Robinson in the midcourt.

“I’m obviously really disappointed that I’ll miss the Constellation Cup next month, as I love nothing more than to be playing in the green and gold for Australia,” Robinson told Magpies Netball.

“My focus now will be to continue my training & prepare as well as I can for team selection ahead of the upcoming Quad Series & Commonwealth Games in 2018.

“Given the SSN season doesn’t start until after the Games have finished, the time spent on the training court with the Magpies and our practice matches in the coming months will provide me with the best opportunity to prove that I still have plenty to offer at international level for my country.

“I look forward to the challenge.”

The Magpies are still strongly represented in the Diamonds by Kim Ravaillion, April Brandley and Caitlin Thwaites, while Sharni Layton will continue her leave of absence from the sport.

The Diamonds have won the past four Constellation Cup fixtures, and will look to defend their title against New Zealand this October.
