SUPER NETBALL DOUBLE-HEADERS

Alanna Mullan - May 3, 2017

The introduction of double header matches in the inaugural Suncorp Super Netball League has truly enhanced the profile of the sport and has created greater opportunities for the fans.

What is a Double-Header?

Double Headers allow for the ultimate netball experience.

Two matches are played back-to-back at the same venue, giving members and ticket purchasers the opportunity to witness both games.

The round 11 double-header pits the two Melbourne teams against the two Queensland teams at Hisense Arena.

First up, the Melbourne Vixens take on the Queensland Firebirds at 7pm.

Following this, our Collingwood Magpies are up against the Sunshine Coast Lightning at 8:45pm which is sure to be a blockbuster.

Tickets can be purchased at Ticketek. As this is a Vixens-hosted double header, the following applies for Magpies members:

  • General admission members must upgrade to a reserved seat via this link - magpi.es/2pwv2Sr
  • Reserved seat members have access to a reserved seat, but must call 1300 MAGPIE to allocate it for the double header.

In round five, the Magpies were defeated by the Lightning in a heartbreaking one-goal game. The match was the second of a double-header in Brisbane. The Melbourne Vixens proved too strong for the Firebirds, defeating the hosts 66-50. The four teams played in front of 6100 at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre.
