One of the best goal shooters in the game, Thwaites joined the Magpies in 2017 after three impressive seasons with the NSW Swifts.

The Victorian had previously spent a few years with the Central Pulse in the ANZ Championship, with a dominant 2011 season eventually leading to her Australian Diamonds debut the following year.

She has experienced a host of team success, winning the ANZ Championship with Melbourne Vixens in 2009 and being part of the Australian squads that won the Netball World Cup in 2015 and the gold medal at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Scotland.

An extremely talented sportswoman, Thwaites also represented Australia at volleyball during the 2004 Olympic qualification matches.

In her first year with the Magpies, Thwaites elevated her game to a new level.

She led the league in goals scored, amassing a career-best 594 goals at 92 per cent efficiency. Furthermore, Thwaites was selected in the Diamonds' Constellation Cup and Quad Series squads, and was recognised for her standout year by winning the Magpies Netball 2017 best and fairest.

Thwaites will join Kim Ravaillion and Shae Brown as vice-captains to Madi Robinson of Magpies Netball in 2018.
