History

The Collingwood Magpies Netball Team is a Melbourne based netball team who competes in Australia's national competition, the Suncorp Super Netball League.

The Magpies launched in 2016 having secured a licence in the newly established league. The team took to the court for its debut season in 2017 under the leadership of its inaugural captain, Madi Browne alongside head coach Kristy Keppich-Birrell.

The team finished fourth on the ladder in its first season and lost their elimination final to the Giants by one goal.

The following season saw the Magpies struggle for wins and consistency. It also marked former Australian Diamonds defender, Sharni Layton's last game in the sport having announcement her retirement at the end of the season.

In 2019, the Magpies return to the court with a revamped team under its new head coach Rob Wright as well as co-captains Madi Browne and Geva Mentor.

This season the team's home matches will be played at Melbourne Arena.
